Where are they now: Jack Haritos (OH 2019)
The journey of self-discovery and academic growth is often shaped by the experiences we have during our school years. Jack Haritos reflects fondly on his time at Haileybury Rendall School where he embraced every opportunity that came his way.
Jack served as a Social Justice Prefect — a role he cherished deeply. Organising charity events and delivering speeches at assemblies allowed him to develop valuable life skills, such as leadership, communication and a passion for making a positive impact on society. These experiences are laying the foundation for Jack’s future endeavours.
After graduating in 2019, he embarked on an exciting academic journey at the University of Sydney. He pursued a Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Sciences, with a major in Spanish and Latin American Studies. In 2022, he successfully completed this degree, equipped with a global perspective and a thirst for knowledge.
Driven by his aspiration to become a barrister, Jack has embarked on a new chapter in his life, and he started a law degree at the end of last year. Jack’s dedication to his chosen field is evident in his current role as a Court Officer, where he gains firsthand experience observing barristers at the Sydney Bar. Immersed in the intricacies of court procedure and the administration of justice, Jack is building the foundation for his future career.
Living in Sydney has brought Jack numerous personal and professional benefits. This vibrant city provides opportunities to network with people from diverse backgrounds, encouraging a deeper understanding of the world and its people. Jack values the connections he has made, recognising that they enrich his journey and open doors to new possibilities.
While the colder climate of Sydney has been a stark contrast to the dry season in Darwin, Jack is adaptable and resilient. With his family still residing in Darwin, he contemplates the possibility of returning home after completing his law degree. However, he remains open to unforeseen pathways that life may present him and eagerly embraces the unknown.
Thanks for staying connected, Jack, and we hope you enjoyed our Sydney Chapter event!
